Chain Gang: Chick-fil-A tests breakfast offerings in Philly market
Waffles, egg sammies, cinnamon rolls and more are having their tryout here. Are they worthy additions to the fast-food breakfast scene?

Nutrition information: It's fast food, so you may not want to know. But if you do, go to chick-fil-a.com. They even have a counter that will add up your whole meal's calories.
Price: Should you want a very hearty breakfast of the Sausage, Egg & Cheese English Muffin Meal (which came with hash browns and a drink), Maple Waffle, Cinnamon Biscuit Roll and Bacon, Egg & Cheese Bagel, it'll set you back $12.95 (with tax). The individual sandwiches start at $2.95, the waffle, $2.05, and the roll, $1.89.
Disclaimer: I'm probably the last person who should review Chick-fil-A. It's like sending Harold and Kumar to review White Castle. Chick-fil-A is the only fast food I still allow myself, so I'm immediately biased. But also somewhat of an expert. So who better to judge their new products?
Review: The English muffin sandwich was thin on cheese but nice in the spicy sausage department. The bagel sandwich was surprisingly good, even if the folded square of egg in the center looked tiny. The Cinnamon Biscuit Roll had plenty of icing and cinnamon-y brown sugar, but the bread part was dry and hard. The waffle scored lowest, for its chalky consistency. Its selling point is that the syrup is baked inside, but the waffle varied from sweet to sugar explosion depending where you bit.
Bonus: Chick-fil-A has the best dipping sauces, so there are endless ways to flavor your sandwiches.
Summary: Save the calories for lunch - and the Waffle Potato Fries.
