Truck Stop: Casa Brazil

The truck: Our mouths started watering as soon as we saw Ricardo Barbosa's Casa Brazil on 33rd Street, on Drexel University's campus. The truck, which opened in June, features a photo of juicy meat over an open flame - basically the only two things you need in life, when you really think about it.

The truck: Our mouths started watering as soon as we saw Ricardo Barbosa's Casa Brazil on 33rd Street, on Drexel University's campus. The truck, which opened in June, features a photo of juicy meat over an open flame - basically the only two things you need in life, when you really think about it.

Concept: Culinary creativity is great, but there's something to be said for simple dishes done right. That's what drew us to Casa Brazil - the sirloin steak, lightly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Barbosa's menu includes two top sirloin sandwiches, two Brazilian sausage sandwiches and two chicken sandwiches with bacon. They're each $7.

What to get: Forget everything else for a moment. This is what you need to order: the Ipanema Top Sirloin Sandwich. It's sirloin and pineapple on a fresh roll. That's it.

What you'll get: We didn't just eat this sandwich. We entered into a relationship with this sandwich. When it was gone, we recalled the moments we had together. Seriously, this sandwich was that good. Yet, so basic. "Just pineapple and sirloin," Barbosa said. "The pineapple, a lot of people like. People love the pineapple."

Hot stuff: One thing that might work well on this sandwich is a dash of habanero sauce. Unfortunately, we were nowhere near the truck by the time we unwrapped it. Barbosa later said that he has hot sauce. "You ask me, I give it to you," he said. "Some people like it hot."

Other items: We didn't have a chance to try the sausage, and we weren't too crazy about the chicken. But it's a Brazilian steakhouse truck. See above. Barbosa said that he's thinking about adding rice and beans to the menu, which sounds like a good idea.

Location: On weekdays, you can usually find Casa Brazil on Arch Street between 33rd and 34th streets. On Friday and Saturday nights, find it at Frankford and Girard avenues.
