Spodee: Wine with a chocolate kick

From the fertile mind of Philly ad man Steven Grasse, creator of the Art in the Age spirits Root, Snap, and Rhuby, comes Spodee, which blends fortified wine and moonshine (yes, white whiskey) in an old-fashioned milk bottle. Tastes like port with chocolate.

Guests at Miss Rachel's Pantry's appearance at the Cook demo kitchen each received his or her 500ml bottle of Spodee, a mini-bottle of Coca-Cola, and a glass of ice.

That's the formula for a "Spodee sody," which tastes like a chocolate Coke - though the Spodee's 18-percent alcoholic content delivered a kick. Hence, the bottle's name of White Mule Farms.

Spodee is on sale now for $7.99 at some Pennsylvania State Stores and is available in New Jersey as well.
