Dice. Mix. Heat. Done! These recipes are told in 140 characters or less.
"Recipe Shorts," by Andrea Stewart, features, quick, simple instructions for 80 dishes.
Make pho with meatballs, scallions, and ginger in less time than it takes to get it delivered. Toss BLT ingredients in a bowl and turn them into a salad. Whip up coconut rice pudding in half an hour. A new cookbook designed for the novice chef — or for the chef who's always busy — presents 80 simple recipes in 140 characters or less, resulting in instructions so streamlined just about anyone can make time for them.
Recipe Shorts, by Andrea Stewart, began when she had the idea to write recipes in the style of Twitter posts. It evolved into a collection of recipes that cover everything from breakfast meals to soups, salads, side dishes, and desserts.
Many of the recipes, like the one for zesty pasta, can be easily modified or made fancier. Others, such as the instructions for kale chips, are classic go-to dishes that can be served just as written.
"Use the recipes to inspire your culinary creativity," Stewart wrote in the introduction. "Trust your palate and don't be afraid to experiment."
