Q. I work the graveyard (12 to 8 a.m.) shift and find it incredibly hard to eat right and exercise. Any suggestions?

A: I know firsthand how difficult it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle working the night shift. Unfortunately, night work disrupts our natural bio rhythms and causes increased stress, which drives us to eat. Generally, during these high-stress periods, we are more apt to grab some highly satisfying sugary and or fattening food. In your case, prepare your healthy meals in advance, then pack them to take with you to work. Regarding exercise, make an effort to exercise during the day, long before your shift.
