Philly cop arrested in Pottstown break-in

A Philadelphia police officer was arrested late Sunday in Pottstown for his alleged involvement in a home-invasion robbery, the Daily News has learned.

The officer, identified by a police source as Malik Snell, allegedly was driving the vehicle that fledafter the Montgomery County robbery. He was arrested after a car chase, a Police Department source said.

Snell has been a police officer since 1996, city payroll records show. He is assigned to the 18th District, headquartered at Pine Street near 55th in West Philadelphia.

Chief Inspector William Colarulo, of Internal Affairs, confirmed the arrest yesterday but declined to give further details.

Pottstown police yesterday referred comment to the Montgomery County district attorney's office.

First Assistant District Attorney Risa Ferman confirmed yesterday that a "law enforcement official in Philadelphia" had been arrested over the weekend but declined to comment further. *
