The owner of a Roxborough sewing machine and vacuum-cleaner repair shop was busted by police on Thursday for running a dirty little side business.

Undercover cops made three drug buys from Darren Clarkson in the past week alone, including once inside his store, Express Vac and Sew, said Capt. Debra Frazier, the commander of the Narcotics Field Unit.

Clarkson sold pills and cocaine to the officers, Frazier said.

Investigators later found 10 grams of cocaine, 62 Percocets, eight Valiums, $140 in cash and a .40-caliber handgun inside the shop on Ridge Avenue near Krams, Frazier added.

"The store is in the middle of a row of quiet stores on a sleepy block," Frazier said.

"I don't know that anyone was actually getting their vacuums repaired there. The only commerce he was involved in was drugs."

Clarkson, 41, was charged with weapons and narcotics violations. His girlfriend, Jennifer Crangle, also was arrested and charged with conspiracy and drug offenses, Frazier said. *
