Pa. reports 1st swine-flu death

HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Department of Heath says a 55-year-old woman in Berks County was the state's first person to die from swine flu.

HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Department of Heath says a 55-year-old woman in Berks County was the state's first person to die from swine flu.

The woman, who was not identified, had significant underlying health issues, a Health Department spokesman said.

The state has 269 confirmed cases and 101 probable cases of illness due to the virus. There have been more than 11,000 cases nationwide and 18 related deaths.

Health officials in Wisconsin, California, Illinois and Utah also reported deaths from swine flu yesterday. *
