AGLENSIDE MAN with a lengthy criminal record was charged Friday with impersonating a Philadelphia cop.

Police said Michael Green, 30, and another man - who is still on the loose - posed as cops Wednesday while handcuffing and abducting three men on McMenam Street near Walker in Holmesburg.

Green and his accomplice allegedly drove a Chevy Malibu with flashing blue and red lights. One wore a shirt that had the word "police" emblazoned on it.

The three men who were allegedly abducted by Green managed to escape and contact authorities.

Police didn't release any details about how or where Green was arrested.

Green, of Cobden Road near Fawn Drive, was also charged with aggravated assault, robbery, kidnapping for ransom and related offenses.

According to court records, he was sentenced to six to 12 months in prison and seven years' probation in 2009 for carrying a firearm without a license.

That same year, he also got a separate two-year probation sentence for fleeing police, possessing an instrument of crime and recklessly endangering another person.

Coincidently, the same day Green and his cohort conducted their alleged fake-cop routine, Julian Collins, 23, of Winchester Park, also allegedly posed as a cop and tried to arrest a man outside a Pennypack Woods 7-Eleven. Collins was later arrested.
