Yasmin Shayesteh Age: 32 . . . "Can I subtract 10 from that?" she asked. Where she's from: The Center City resident is originally from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, but postsecondary schooling - she's a doctor - has taken her to California, New York and Washington, D.C. She moved to the city a year and a half ago for a fellowship at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in oculoplastic surgery. (She fixes children's eye deformities and problems resulting from trauma, disease or birth defects.) After her fellowship ends in June, she'll be job-hunting in Chicago, where her boyfriend lives. What she misses most about her hometown: Skiing and her family, who now live in Vancouver. Her opinion of Philly: "Philly is a very cultured, metropolitan city. We just came from the Barnes Foundation, and we're on our way to the Reading Terminal Market for lunch. When I told people I was moving to Philly, they said, 'Why would you want to do that?' But I was pleasantly surprised by the great food and culture here. I love Philly." Any negatives?: "I could do without the Center City flash mobs and the shootings." - Dana DiFilippo
