The Philadelphia Prison System operates six large correctional centers on its sprawling State Road campus. They include: Alternative and Special Detention - Houses minimum- and community-custody men and women, including inmates serving sentences on weekends and work-release inmates.

Alternative and Special Detention - Houses minimum- and community-custody men and women, including inmates serving sentences on weekends and work-release inmates.

Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility - Houses maximum-security inmates.

Detention Center - Houses inmates requiring medical and behavioral health treatment.

House of Correction - Houses minimum- and medium-security inmates.

Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center - Houses and treats inmates with behaviorial-health issues.

Riverside Correctional Facility - Houses only female inmates.

The system also operates smaller satellite prisons elsewhere in the city.
