Police: Woman found on Camden street was strangled

The death of a woman whose body was found on a Camden street on Saturday has been ruled a homicide by strangulation.

Stephanie Luttrell, 31, of Burlington Township, was found dead by a passerby about 11:30 a.m. on the 1000 block of South 5th Street, said Jason Laughlin, spokesman for the Camden County Prosecutor's office.

An autopsy determined the cause of death was strangulation, he said.

Camden County law enforcement agencies warned women in the Broadway area in South Camden to be alert and report any suspicious activity to police.

Anyone with information regarding the killing is asked to contact Camden County Prosecutor's Office Detective Pete Longo at (856) 580-5854 or Detective Randy Smith at (856) 757-7420.
