Living Beyond Breast Cancer held its 25th-anniversary Butterfly Ball on Nov. 12 at the former Strawbridge & Clothier Building in Philadelphia. Living Beyond Breast Cancer provides programs and information to help people whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer in any way. Some 700 guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, and dancing. Several awards were given, including the Going Beyond Award, presented to Jenny Burkholder, Ayanna Z. Kalasunas, and Judy Weinstein, who have used their personal experiences with breast cancer to help and inspire others; the Founder's Award, presented to Jennifer Chalfin Simmons for the long-standing support she has offered to Living Beyond Breast Cancer and the people it serves; and the new Impact Award, presented to Andrea and Abraham Morris. The award was established to recognize those whose support has played a critical role in Living Beyond Breast Cancer's evolution and will be named after the Morrises, who have been part of Living Beyond Breast Cancer for more than 20 years. A record $950,000 was raised, to be used to reach those in need with educational programming and support services.
