Dog reunited with owner after car theft

WILMINGTON - A shih tzu has been reunited with its owner after it went missing when her car was stolen, police said.

WILMINGTON - A shih tzu has been reunited with its owner after it went missing when her car was stolen, police said.

The 77-year-old woman's car was stolen Friday after she left the keys in the ignition during a brief stop at St. Anthony's Church. The vehicle was found Saturday but the dog was not there.

The dog had been picked up by a family living in the area of the theft, police said. The family turned the dog over to police Monday after noticing news coverage of the incident.

Police say the woman was grateful to be reunited with her dog in time for Christmas. The dog's name is Noel. - AP
