Credit cards accepted again at parking kiosks

Philadelphia Parking Authority kiosks are again accepting credit cards for on street parking following resolution of a wireless transmission problem.

Philadelphia Parking Authority kiosks are again accepting credit cards for on street parking following resolution of a wireless transmission problem.

Due to the problem, motorists got a break with free parking over the weekend.

But when the day began Monday, the PPA said it would enforce parking regulation and that motorists would have to pay using cash of PPA Smart Cards at the kiosks.

Later in the day, the PPA announced the problem had been fixed.

"We want to apologize for any inconvenience caused by the failure of our kiosks to accept credit card payments," PPA Executive Director Vince Fenerty said in a statement. "We worked throughout the weekend to successfully correct this technical problem and things are now back to normal."
