Search for Shane Montgomery continues

A day after a volunteer diving team found a missing West Chester University student's keys submerged in the Schuylkill, Philadelphia police divers scoured the river again for any sign of Shane Montgomery.

But Monday's search turned up no trace of the 21-year-old, who has been missing since Thanksgiving, said Kevin Verbrugghe, Montgomery's uncle.

Montgomery disappeared early Nov. 27 after leaving Kildare's Irish Pub in Manayunk. His family and police have mounted a massive search effort.

Two weeks ago, video showing Montgomery on a bridge crossing the Manayunk Canal was recovered from a store on Main Street. The bridge leads to a parking lot that abuts the Schuylkill.

Montgomery's keys were found just south of the parking lot on Sunday. Verbrugghe confirmed they were his nephew's after trying them on the front door of Montgomery's Roxborough home.

A reward for information in the case is up to $65,000. Anyone with any information is asked to call Northwest Detectives at 215-686-3353 or the FBI at 215-418-4000.
