Pair in senior tennis championships

Joshua Schofield of Collegeville and Chris Sanni of Ambler were among the 24 players to represent the United States at the inaugural International Tennis Federation Young Seniors World Team Championships this week in Antalya, Turkey.

Schofield, a former Villanova University tennis team player, is the associate head tennis coach at Swarthmore College. The winner of several major tennis titles, most recently the Silverball 35 grass court singles and doubles championships, Schofield and his three teammates finished seventh in the Italia Cup competition for men 35 and older.

Sanni, the director of tennis at the Germantown Cricket Club, a 2014 USTA national grass court doubles champion, and former player at Rutgers University, and his three teammates finished 11th in Trabert Cup play for men 40 and older.

The tournament is the highest-ranked event on the ITF Seniors Circuit for players 35 to 45. - Inquirer staff
