Passover gets early welcome

ELKINS PARK The eight-day Jewish festival of Passover begins at sunset Friday, but it will be celebrated early by seniors and others as the Klein Active Adult Center has planned a preholiday seder to run from 11:15 a.m. to noon Wednesday.

The seder, free and open to the public, is scheduled to be led by Rabbi Rachel Kobrin, spiritual leader of Congregation Adath Jeshurun. For information and reservations, call the center at 215-635-5244. It is at 7763 Old York Rd.

Passover commemorates the story of the exodus in which the ancient Israelites were set free from slavery in Egypt. - Inquirer staff
