Bolaris: The rain's not done, and it will be heavy

Showers kept Philly from soaring into the low 70s, but a record high was set - 68, breaking the old record of 64 set back in 1998. At 3 p.m. Sunday, 68 is the official record high.

Now get ready for a frog choker (no frog emails, please.) Heavy rain will move in overnight and through the Monday morning rush. The heaviest rain will fall across Delaware and southern New Jersey, where 2-3 inches of rain are expected by noon Monday.

Philadelphia and most other places will pick up 1.25-2 inches. If we exceed 2 inches, we could then expect some flash flooding of streams and creeks. I will monitor and keep you updated.

But for sure expect a slow morning rush with plenty of street and highway flooding.

Temperatures will start out overnight in the 60s, then drop through the 50s and into the 40s by 3 p.m.

Rain will move out after 1 p.m. in the city and points north and west, and after 3 p.m. across eastern New Jersey.

Christmas Eve: A blast of Arctic air with perhaps some snow flurries, not enough for a white Christmas in Philly, but will be making snow in the Poconos! Temperatures will hold in the 30s.

Christmas: Sunny and HO HO. Cold, 33.

New Year's Eve: Still watching possible storm formation off Mid-Atlantic coast. However, still keeping storm well off the coast and out to sea at this time. So as of now, LOW probability of a New Year's Eve storm. Cold, 30s.

Mummers Parade/New Year's Day: DRY and cold, 30s.
