Construction worker fatally struck by car in Chesco

A project superintendent at a construction site was killed when he was struck by a car in Chester County.

North Coventry Township police said 60-year-old Lee Boyer was setting up cones for a lane closure and painting lines when he was hit by a Jeep Liberty that was traveling west on Route 422 near Route 100.

Boyer, who worked for the construction company J.D. Eckman, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which was reported around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Police identified 57-year-old Newstell Marable, of Douglassville, as the Jeep driver.

The road was closed for about five hours while crews responded to the scene.

Authorities said the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
