Two fisherman found the body of a male yesterday in the Delaware River near the Tacony Palmyra Bridge.
The decomposed corpse was removed by New Jersey state troopers from the water between the Riverton Marina and the bridge, police said.
Sgt. Stephen Jones, a state police spokesman, said it was too early to determine whether the body was that of John "J.T." Haggerty, the Haddonfield Memorial High School junior who leaped from the Benjamin Franklin Bridge on Easter Sunday. An autopsy by the Burlington County medical examiner was scheduled for later today.
Tides in the Delaware can cause water to flow upriver all the way to Trenton, said Jones.
