Police investigate rape at City Avenue motel

An 18-year-old woman was in critical condition after being raped and stabbed in a room at the North American Motor Inn on City Avenue last night, Philadelphia police said.

The woman was found shortly after 9:33 p.m. with her arms tied with a shirt and a knife wound to her throat, police said. She was transported to Jefferson University Hospital and listed in critical condition.

No arrests were reported.
