The Philadelphia Fire Department this morning will honor several organizations and individuals during its 23d Annual Awards Day Ceremony at the Fire Academy in Northeast Philadelphia.

Commissioner Lloyd Ayers will present Partnership Awards to the Kal and Lucille Rudman Foundation, CENVEO, and Jack's Firehouse Restaurant for their continued support of fire safety and education efforts, and several citizens for actions taken doing emergencies. One civilian will also be presented with a Heroism Award.

Also, members of the Fire Department will receive Unit Citation, Merit, and Heroism Awards, and the Albert Redles Community Service Award will be presented to various units for their special efforts in community outreach.

"I am pleased to recognize the community members and fire department members who took action in emergency situations, as well as our corporate sponsors that give both their time and financial support," Ayers said in a statement.

The ceremony is slated for 10 a.m. at the Academy, State Road and Pennypack Street.
