Veterans’ Homes Week begins Sunday

The commonwealth's six veterans' homes will celebrate the 17th annual State Veterans' Homes WeekSunday through June 14.

The commonwealth's six veterans' homes will celebrate the 17th annual State Veterans' Homes WeekSunday through June 14.

Special activities will include ceremonies, music, golf and fishing tournaments, and carnivals and picnics. Community members are invited to visit the homes and explore volunteer programs.

Pennsylvania's veterans' homes are operated by the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

The homes serve more than 1,600 veterans and their spouses. They are the Delaware Valley Veterans Home in Philadelphia, the Southeastern Veterans Center in Spring City, the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center in Scranton, the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home in Hollidaysburg, the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home in Erie, and the Southwestern Veterans Center in Pittsburgh.
