More than 250 veterans will receive their Burlington County Military Service Medals at a ceremony tomorrow at 1 p.m.

The event, sponsored by the county freeholders, is open to the public. It will be held at the county Human Services Facility, 795 Woodlane Road, Mount Holly.

"We are pleased that we will have this opportunity to honor our veterans, and to continue to update our database to notify our veterans of the benefits and programs available to them," said Deputy Freeholder Director Joseph B. Donnelly.

More than 9,000 medals have been presented to county veterans since the start of the program in 2002. The requirements for receiving a medal are current residency in the county and having been honorably discharged from U.S. military service.
