A 37-year-old North Philadelphia motorcylist was killed early today when he struck a turning car on Delaware Avenue, police said.

The motorcyclist, Jose Negron, who was northbound on Delaware Avenue, struck a vehicle turning left onto North Penn Street at 3:47 a.m., said Sgt. Lawrence Ritchie of the accident investigation unit. Negron was pronounced dead at 4:23 a.m. at Hahnemann Hospital.

The accident is still under investigation, but the motorcyclist was suspected to be speeding and no arrests were made, said Ritchie. "Speed had a lot to do with it," he said.
