Fire near Franklin contained

A fire broke out Friday night on the roof deck of a house near the Franklin Institute.

At 10:06 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a fire at 21st and Race streets, with flames shooting into the air. The one-alarm fire was contained to the deck, emergency dispatchers said.

Everyone in the house got out safely, according to emergency dispatchers. The fire was declared under control at 10:38 p.m.    - Claudia Vargas
