Police arrest suspect, ID victim slain in argument

One man is dead, another in custody because of an argument in North Philadelphia early Monday morning, according to police.

One man is dead, another in custody because of an argument in North Philadelphia early Monday morning, according to police.

The victim, who was shot twice in the chest, was identified by police as Omar Rivera, 34, of the 2400 block of North Reese Street.

Arrested was Jose Luis Tirado-DeJesus, 41, of the 2100 block of North Sixth Street, where the shooting took place about 3:45 a.m.

Rivera, who lived just a handful of blocks away, was pronounced dead at 4:11 a.m. at Temple University Hospital.

Tirado-DeJesus was charged with murder and related charges, police said.
