Delco SPCA names new director

The Delaware County SPCA has named their current interim director Richard Matelsky as executive director effective May 23, they announced Friday.

Matelsky, of Queens, New York, has been at the privately run, animal shelter for nine months. Previously, he was senior manager at the North Shore Animal League in Long Island for 27 years.

He has been at the helm since the Media-based shelter announced they would no longer accept stray animals from local municipalities after June 30, in their efforts to change to a "no kill" policy.
