S.J. basement collapses during storm

The basement of a Deptford home partially collapsed early this morning during the tail-end of the storm that dumped inches of rain on the area.

Emergency crews were called to the 700 block of Wills Avenue about 8 a.m. today.

Technical rescue and construction crews were called to the scene.

There were no injuries reported, but residents were removed from the one-story home, which is situated a few hundred feet from Gateway High School.

More than two inches of rain were recorded in South Jersey yesterday into today, and flooding was reported at various locations.
