Police: Scuba death 'auto-erotic'

Four months after his body was found, clad in a scuba suit, in the corner of his attic, Upper Darby police have ended their investigation into the death of engineer Peter Stelzenmuller, 49.

Four months after his body was found, clad in a scuba suit, in the corner of his attic, Upper Darby police have ended their investigation into the death of engineer Peter Stelzenmuller, 49.

Toxicology reports showed no evidence of crime, and the death evidently was the result of "auto-erotic" activity, Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael J. Chitwood said Thursday.

On the night of Aug. 18, Stelzemuller's girlfriend, Edythe Maa, a self-described "fetish model" named "Jade Vixen," called police to the victim's house in the 2500 block of Hillcrest Road after finding the body, which showed no bruises or injuries. At the time, Chitwood said he suspected the death was related to erotic activity, given Maa's "history of sadomasochism" and a reference on her website to "oxygen deprivation."    - Anthony R. Wood
