A man was shot and critically wounded early today in North Philadelphia, police said.

A man was shot and critically wounded early today in North Philadelphia, police said.

Officers found the victim about 1:35 a.m. on the 3600 block of Marshall Street in the Franklinville neighborhood, police said. He had been shot in the thigh and the back.

The man, said to be about 28-years-old, was taken to Temple University Hospital and placed in critical condition, police said.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation.
