Thirteen Pennridge High School students and one adult were injured when the bus they were riding in reportedly hit another car and a light post after leaving Dorney Park in Allentown on Friday evening.

School Principal Thomas Creeden said none of the injuries was life-threatening.

"One girl had a pretty good bump on her head," he said in a posting on the district website. "We're fortunate the injuries do not appear to be serious."

Those injured were being treated at local hospitals, including Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest and St. Luke's Allentown, Creeden said.

The students from Pennridge, which is in Upper Bucks, were on a freshman class trip to the park. About 30 people were on the bus, at the time.

The accident occurred on Route 222 near the entrance to Route 78 in Lower Macungie Township. The bus involved was one of several chartered through the Levy Bus Company, Creeden said. State police were investigating the accident.
