A Logan woman was charged with kidnapping and carjacking after she allegedly stole a Cadillac and sped off with a 10-month-old boy in the backseat, Philadelphia police said Monday.

On Saturday morning, police said, a woman parked her Cadillac SRX outside her mother's house in Kensington and left the car running while she opened the door to the home.

The woman's 14-year-old niece and 10-month-old son were sitting in the car when another woman approached the car, opened the driver's door, and ordered the 14-year-old out, police said.

She then sped off with the boy still inside, police said.

Two witnesses managed to pin the vehicle in at Frankford Avenue and Cumberland Street, about two blocks away, police said.
