A Christmas night fire in South Philadelphia damaged at least two homes and displaced 10 people, officials said.

The fire was reported at 7:58 p.m. in the 2500 block of Percy Street and spread to another house before it was placed under control at 8:34 p.m., a fire official said.

One person at the scene was taken to a hospital for a reason unrelated to the fire. Eight adults and two children were displaced, said Dave Schrader, spokesman for the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania chapter. - Robert Moran
