A Philadelphia Common Pleas Court jury will resume deliberations Tuesday in the attempted murder trial of a Feltonville man accused of shooting a police officer during a struggle in a neighborhood grocery.
The jury of nine women and three men has deliberated about six hours since Friday when it got the case against 33-year-old Eric Torres. Torres is charged with aggravated assault, weapons and drug charges involving the Aug. 13, 2013 police chase that ended with a group of officers trying to subdue Torres and Officer Edward Davies getting shot with Torres' pistol.
Davies, 42, a six-year veteran of the department, is still recovering from his wounds, which resulted in the loss of a large amount of blood and a kidney.
