Inquirer celebrates outstanding students

The Philadelphia Inquirer recognized 62 young people Thursday morning, presenting its inaugural Inquirer Student Citizenship Award during a reception at the National Constitution Center.

The Philadelphia Inquirer recognized 62 young people Thursday morning, presenting its inaugural Inquirer Student Citizenship Award during a reception at the National Constitution Center.

The recipients received a commemorative medallion, a $100 gift card and a listing in a celebratory section in Thursday's Philadelphia Inquirer.

The students, all seniors, were selected by schools in Philadelphia, Bucks, Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, Camden, Gloucester and Burlington counties on the criteria of civic or community contribution, scholarship and school participation.

The awards were presented by editor Bill Marimow and publisher Brian Tierney.
