A 31-year-old man was in extremely critical condition Tuesday after being shot the night before at a Logan gas station, police said.

About 9:55 p.m. Monday, officers responded to the Sunoco station on the 5000 block of North Broad Street, where they found the victim lying in the parking lot with several gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Police took him to Einstein Medical Center.

Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said the shooting appeared to have resulted from an argument. Police were examining surveillance videos from the APlus convenience store at the gas station.

Police said they believe the gunman fled in a vehicle with a woman. The gunman was described as in his 30s, Hispanic, about 5-foot-1, 165 pounds. He was said to be wearing a dark blue warmup suit and black sneakers. The woman was described as in her 30s, Hispanic, 5-foot-11, 160 to 170 pounds; wearing a dark-blue jacket, stonewashed jeans, and white-and-black Adidas sneakers.
