An unidentified construction worker was killed yesterday while doing maintenance work on a section of a water pipeline in Wynnewood.

The pipeline is owned by Aqua Pennsylvania, but a subcontractor was doing the work, said company spokeswoman Donna Alston. She said that until the victim's family was notified, the company would not release the name of the victim or the contractor.

Alston said that the accident occured between 2:30 and 3 p.m. near the intersection of Severn Lane and Fairwood Road. Lower Merion police had no further information about the accident last night. - Nancy Petersen
