Firefighter injured in two-alarm Olney blaze

A Philadelphia firefighter was injured last night fighting a fierce blaze that consumed three brick rowhouses in the Olney section of the city.

A Philadelphia firefighter was injured last night fighting a fierce blaze that consumed three brick rowhouses in the Olney section of the city.

The two-alarm fire, in the 5000 block of North Franklin Street, was reported at 8:11 p.m. and took firefighters an hour to put out.

The firefighter, whose identity was not released last night, was taken to Temple University Hospital with unknown injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. All residents of the buildings were able to escape, fire officials said. - Jeff Shields
