Rally for convicted killer, memorial for slain officer

About 30 demonstrators rallied outside City Hall yesterday in support of Mumia Abu-Jamal, who was convicted of the 1981 shooting death of Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner. The demonstration came a day before the 26th anniversary of Faulkner's murder. About 40 police officers monitored the demonstration.

Today at 4:30 p.m. at Geno's Steaks, 1219 S. Ninth St., there will be a memorial service. His widow, Maureen Faulkner, is to attend.
