Camden teen to be tried as adult in fatal shooting

A 15-year-old boy will be tried as an adult on murder charges in the May shooting of a Brooklawn teen, authorities said.

Zoran Harris is one of three Camden suspects charged in the May 30 slaying of James Zemek, 17, in the city's Waterfront South neighborhood. Harris and two others had met Zemek on Emerald Street to buy a gun, said Jason Laughlin, spokesman for the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

The gun deal went bad, officials said. Zemek tried to run away as two of the teens allegedly took turns firing on him. Zemek was hit multiple times in the back.

Also charged with murder are Gregory Kellum, 18, and Naquan Johnson, 19, who are being held at the Camden County jail. Harris is being held at the Camden County Youth Detention Center at the Lakeland Complex in Gloucester Township.
