WASHINGTON - New Jersey will get $176 million in federal funds for flood-prevention and beach-replenishment projects in an appropriations bill signed Wednesday by President Bush. Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D., N.J.) helped craft the legislation.

The biggest pot of money, $85 million, will go to deepen New York/New Jersey Harbor. Other projects to be funded include beach replenishment in communities including Ocean City, Long Beach Island, Avalon and North Wildwood.

Money will also be allocated for Joseph Minish Park in Newark and a Passaic River flood warning system.
