Allentown motorist's strip-search suit revived

ALLENTOWN - A federal appeals court has revived a lawsuit filed by an Allentown motorist over a strip search. Lori Reppert is suing Allentown police over a 2005 vehicle stop that led to a strip search in a police wagon. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit says a lower court improperly allowed testimony that portrayed Reppert as a frequent drug user. Police apparently suspected that Reppert had stopped downtown to buy or sell drugs. No drugs were found. Reppert's civil rights suit alleges racial profiling. She is white but she says police stopped her because of her black and Hispanic passengers. - AP
