Western Pa. soldier, 30, dies in Iraq

PITTSBURGH - A soldier from the Pittsburgh area died in Iraq after being attacked with a rocket-propelled grenade, Army officials said yesterday.

Spec. Jason Kazarick, 30, of Oakmont, died Monday in Sadr City. He was a 1995 graduate of Plum Senior High School.

Sgt. Michael Lilly, 23, of Boise, Idaho, also was killed in the attack, officials said.

Kazarick and Lilly were assigned to the Army's First Squadron, Second Stryker Cavalry Regiment, based in Vilseck, Germany. - AP
