Final suspect in U. Darby kidnapping is arrested
The fifth and final suspect wanted in connection with the kidnapping and beating of an Upper Darby man was arrested Tuesday night, police said.
David Kennedy, 21, of the 6000 block of Media Street in Philadelphia, approached a police officer walking near 61st Street and Market Street and said he wanted to turn himself in, said Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood.
"He told him, 'I don't want to run anymore,' " Chitwood said.
Bail was set at $1 million. Federal authorities have taken over the investigation of the May 9 incident, which Upper Darby police believe was gang-related.
