Writer-director Justin Schwarz and producers Laura Kleger and Louise Lovegrove are shooting the independent film in Croydon, Bristol, Newtown, New Hope, and Tyler State Park - plus a day in the city.

Kleger says Dunne plays a professor (and the son of Margolin, a Lewis and Clark enthusiast) who with his dysfunctional family is dragged into participating in a reenactment of the Lewis and Clark expedition. "It's a road movie, on foot," says Kleger. The filming next moves to Oregon for more exteriors. There's a teaser video at www.discoverersmovie.com

Phillies notes

Phillies centerfielder

Shane Victorino

is credited with helping to defuse a potentially ugly situation outside the Rittenhouse Square bistro Rouge Thursday night. Two groups of patrons were exchanging unpleasantries inside the restaurant, near a table occupied by Victorino and a group of friends, according to patrons. Tempers grew worse as they stepped outside. Victorino joined the combatants on the sidewalk, and told them to knock it off.

Comcast SportsNet's outlets in Philly and the Bay Area have bet on the National League Championship Series. Should the Giants win, the Philly crew will send a batch of Superpretzels to the Willie Mays Boys & Girls Club at Hunters Point, a Giants banner will hang in the CSN Philly newsroom for a week, and CSN Philly exec Brian Monihan will wear a Tim Lincecum jersey and wig for a day. If the Phillies win, the Bay Area CSNers will send Ghirardelli chocolate and sourdough bread to Philabundance, a Phillies banner will be displayed in the Bay Area newsroom for a week, and exec Ted Griggs will wear a Ryan Howard jersey for a day.

How has winning $1 million in the Pillsbury Bake-Off changed

Sue Compton

of Delanco? Not much. Compton, 56, who wowed judges with her Mini Ice Cream Cookie Cups six months ago, just went to part time at the mortgage company where she is a processor. She also has been working around a renovation of her kitchen, which is being torn apart to accommodate the appliances she won. "My kitchen is so tiny," says Compton, who despite her windfall won't trade up to a larger house. "I don't live my life differently, but it's nice to have the security of knowing I have money put away." With her extra time, she is putting her baking to use as a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in Camden.

Reading's Brett Youmans, 46, a flight attendant who was a 2010 Bake-Off finalist, is back from South Korea, where he won the Infinite Taste of Seoul Award in LG Electronics' Life Tastes Good championship. The lone U.S. representative among about two dozen amateur chefs, he prepared orange-scented lamb skewers atop watercress and roasted fig salad with baked goat cheese.

The singers had a late dinner at 10 Arts in the Ritz-Carlton Thursday, and Clarkson appeared solo at Buddakan for lunch Friday.

Sew what

Aston's

Rachel Costa

kept

Pat Sajak

and

Vanna White

in stitches during a taping of

Wheel of Fortune

. She has portrayed

Betsy Ross

at the Betsy Ross House in Old City for several years, and the hosts kept calling her by her stage name while talking up the landmark. As you can see Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. on 6ABC, fate did not smile on Costa. "The wheel hated me and landed on 'Lose a Turn' and 'Bankrupt' every other time," she says. Total winnings: $1,000. "The real prize was how much publicity the Betsy Ross House received," Costa says, her enthusiasm clearly unflagging.
