A woman who was treasurer of the Ridley Area Little League has been charged with stealing nearly $25,000 from the organization.

Theresa Becker, 40, of Ridley Park, was arrested Dec. 17 on charges including forgery and theft, according to Ridley Township police.

An affidavit provided Monday by police states that Becker was confronted by league president Robert Kehoe and vice president William Corcoran on Sept. 27 after an audit uncovered 30 checks written out to Becker or to "cash" on which Kehoe's name appeared to have been signed but which Kehoe said he had not signed.

At that time, according to the affidavit, Becker admitted that she forged the checks and cashed them at several local banks. She agreed to start repaying the $24,921.06 taken between March 2011 and September 2012 but never paid back any of the money, the affidavit says.

The Little League officials reported the matter to police in October, according to the affidavit.

Township police said other charges involving theft were filed against her by the Delaware County District Attorney's Office in July. Details were unavailable Monday.
