Playhouse sends show to New York
NEW HOPE There's quite a relationship developing between Broadway and New Hope.
About a month after the Bucks County Playhouse announced it was hiring two veteran Broadway producers to oversee the theater, news broke that Mothers and Sons, a play that debuted at the playhouse this summer, will make its way to New York in the spring.
Starring Tyne Daly, the play will begin previews at the Golden Theater on Feb. 23, according to a website for the production, mothersandsonsbroadway.com.
The production premiered at the playhouse in June, one of several notable recent accomplishments for the former mill along the Delaware River.
Earlier this fall, the theater made Angela Lansbury the first inductee into its Hall of Fame, and hosted a full slate of summer shows for the first time since 2010, when it closed due to financial difficulties. - Chris Palmer
