MONTGOMERY COUNTY Accidents pile up after snow NORRISTOWN Drivers in Montgomery County were slip-sliding their way around Tuesday after the latest pre-winter snowfall.

NORRISTOWN Drivers in Montgomery County were slip-sliding their way around Tuesday after the latest pre-winter snowfall.

The county's Department of Public Safety reported a large number of accidents on its Twitter account at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.

"At one point, we had 35 accidents across the county," said John Corcoran, the department's deputy director for external affairs. "Thirty-five is a lot."

Most were due to slick conditions from the afternoon flake fest, he said.

"When the roads initially get slick, that's when they're especially dangerous," he said.

Accidents also were high in other recent flurries. On Saturday at about 3:25 p.m., the department tweeted:

"Over 20 active traffic incidents in #montcopa Careful on the roads if you have to be out Stay put if you don't."
